I Saw It BLOW!!!

One night i was sitting at my kitchen table doing homework. When I looked out the window and saw the faint glow of a flickering light. I didn't know what it was, it wasn't a emergency vehicle. When all of the sudden i saw it go off in a fiery explosion. It took about 1.5 seconds from explosion to hear the sound. Then everything went dark but then 30 seconds later everything was normal again. in the end i really don't know what happened?
